Christmas Day 2008

Christmas has never come so fast in my life. This year Amanda, Camille & I worked for JD as the best looking Fed Ex drivers you have ever seen. We would take turns working and watching kids which worked out great besides the week before Christmas when JD needed both of us everyday. Luckily I have amazing parents and neighbors that watched the kids while I was out playing Santa Clause. Thank you, thank you, thank you I appreciate it so much!! Before I knew it, it was Christmas Eve we got the cookies made for Santa went to my parents house for the Reeves family party and off to bed to prepare for the fun day ahead.

"Gratitude"was what I was feeling all day on Christmas. With the economy how it is and so many people struggling I was so grateful for all the many temporal blessings I have in my life. I am so grateful for a husband who never gives up and doesn't get discourage with all the "FedEx stories" that happen. If there really is such a thing as bad luck JD has it especially around Christmas time!! I sat back on Christmas morning and watched my kids opening presents in a warm and beautiful house and was i

Christmas morning we woke-up at 5:30 am opened presents played with toys and then weathered the raging storm over to Amanda's house for some yummy breakfast came home shoveled out the fedex truck and more snow, then went to my parents house were my Mom had made each family the cutest teepee for the kids to play in. Next we headed up to Bountiful for a yummy dinner and more presents, we thought we were done dealing with the snow for the day looked outside and the bizard had followed North so we jumped in the car and slowly got home. On the way home I asked Kaden, "So what was your favorite part of the day?" He replied, "all the parties." I couldn't agree more!! What a GREAT Christmas
Kaden's first glance at what santa left for him under the tree!

Tyler pretty much stayed on my lap all Christmas morning, he was still recovering from an ear infection
Tylers favorite present was a woopie cushion he just sat there and laughed and laughed!!
Kaden got a Leapster
Since Tyler and Kaden decided to wake-up at 5:30am he was a little tired and fell asleep at my sisters house during breakfast!!
All the Reeves cousins (except Stew & Ashlynn we missed you) in Grandma's new chair
A lot of the Dunn cousins waiting to open their presents from Grandma & Grandpa
Tyler and his new train from Grandma Dunn

Temple Square Adventure

"Mom can I go yet"
JD, Kaden and Ty all bundled up

Riding trax, Kaden loved it
The boys!! The quote of the night by Parker, "This is amazing"
Kylie, Kristy, Tessa and Aaron

I love going to see the lights every year but with JD work it makes it a little challenging sometimes. I knew Monday was our only chance of being able to go the plan was to leave at 5:00pm catch trax and eat dinner uptown somewhere then look at the lights. Well JD and I got home from work at 6:00 and ran out the door. We thought that we could find a food court in the mall across the street from the temple but it didn't exsist. We finally found out about a place in the Joseph Smith Memorial building but it closed 7 minutes before we got there. So after a quick tour of the lights we had a disgusting dinner at JB's. (It really was the worst food I have ever ate) While at JB's we had a scary incident with Shawn. You know everything went wrong that possibly could of but it was still a lot of fun and it was great to be with friends!!

Gingerbread Houses

Kaden's finished project, with a little help from Mom
Nothing is better than a gingerbread house with a coke bottle on the top

JD & Kaden, JD was a little tired from work!!
Colin, Adam and Cole!!
Brittany and my Dad
Jaxson and KayciGrandpa and Tyler playing ball!!

Last Sunday night we had the annual gingerbread house creation party at my parents house. My mom is nice enough to buy JD and Colby their own kits so they don't have to share with the kids!! Kaden loved making his house and was excited to have a gingerbread man fall off the roof and splatter to the ground below!!Thanks Mom and Dad for the fun night, and thanks Mom for playing with Tyler so I could help Kaden create his masterpiece. Stewy we missed you.

My Boys Favorite Things To Do

Tyler absolutely loves to be pulled around on the hardwood floor on a blanket. He lays down and holds on as tight as he can and when he falls off he comes chasing after the blanket ready for more. Kaden takes him on this joy ride the most and it is so much fun to watch them play together. Sometimes though Kaden gets a little inpatient and will take off when Ty is still standing up. When I am done pulling him around I give him a stuffed animal and he takes it for a ride.
What more could a kid want?
Peek-A-Boo!! Kaden loves to build forts and make homes out of everything. Everyday after I am just finished making my bed he crawls in between all the pillows into his little "home" until you can't see him anymore. A few weeks ago me a him made a big fort together in my room. He loved it he took naps in it and even slept in there for 3 nights. Every night while I was putting Ty to sleep JD and Kaden would crawl in there with a flashlight and book and read stories together. It was pretty cute!!
We used every blanket in the house and every towel that I had just finished folding from the laundry!!

6th Anniversary!!

This is a little late our Anniversary was November 23!! How fast time flies bye, I think back to the first night we met country dancing, I had never met someone so optimistic and happy!! JD is the love of my life and my best friend. He always knows how to make me smile and there is rarely a dull moment in the Dunn household with JD around. He is either wrestling with the boys ( somehow I get caught in the crossfire), chasing them, making someone laugh or throwing his hat at the TV because his team is losing. I am so lucky to have a husband who loves my rebellious attitude, is home with our family a lot and who looks past all my faults (ex. don't cook). People always said when we were first married that your love will grow, I thought they were full of crap, but every year seems to get better.

For our anniversary we went out to dinner at Market Street Grill with the Gunn's and Mortensen's and laughed our heads off. I don't think I had any mascara on after dinner since I was laughing so hard I started to cry. Thanks guys for making the night so much fun!! JD and I have never really ever bought each other anything for our anniversary so this year we went all out and bought a GMC Denali, we call it Denals and I love driving it!!

I am excited to see what new adventures are ahead of us in our marriage. I am positive there will be more laughter, more fights and a heck of a lot of FUN!!

Deck the Halls

Christmas has arrived at the Dunn household and I love it!! JD was great and set up all the trees for me without me even asking. He also did the lights which look wonderful. I love Christmas time all the wonderful smells, getting together with old & new friends and spending time together as a family!!
Here is the tree in Kaden and Tylers room. Kaden and I spent a night making the paper chain. Tyler and Kaden decorated the tree, Ty enjoyed breaking and eating the candy canes more than putting them on the tree.
This is the tree in our living room. It still needs a few touches like a tree skirt but it is almost there.
I wasn't planning on having three trees but JD remembered we had another tree downstairs so we set it up in the office right in front of the window, I love driving by it at night!!

Tyler, Thanksgiving, etc.

Tyler is growing up so fast I can't believe it. Today we moved him onto the trundle bed that is under Kadens and got rid of the crib, YEAH!!! I have been wanting to do this for a few weeks but haven't and then Amanda was watching Tyler and I forgot to get the portacrib for her so she just laid him down on Kayci's bed and he did great. So far so good here at home too. He is such a fun little kid and has the cutest personality very sweet and kind with a fiery side that lets you know when he is not happy. He loves playing chase with Kaden, throwing balls, reading books and wrestling with Dad. Everyday he amazes me with how easily he learns things. Today it was unscrewing the cap on my make-up! He loves to watch what Kaden is doing and then try and do it himself. I love my sweet baby Ty!!

What another fun weekend!! It started off with Thanksgiving at my parents house which I was in charge of the rolls so with help from Brita (Thank You) I attempted to make homemade rolls. They didn't quite turn out like I had hoped but hey the effort was there. The food was delicious and it was a very nice and relaxing day. JD and Colby played sting pong which is always hillarious to watch. JD got his trashed kicked he had 10 welts and Colby had 1.
All I can say is Boys will be Boys and I am grateful for the entertainment.
All I can say is Boys will be Boys and I am grateful for the entertainment.

Friday night it was girls night out to go see Twilight!! We went with my Moms sisters, cousins, Marci's family etc. it was a lot of fun and so good to see everyone. Movies are never as good as the books but I still really liked it. One of these days Amanda and I are going to break Brittany out of her shell and see her let loose. The greatest part of the whole night was when we were stopped at a red light behind Penny and Jamie and I jumped out of the car and pounded on Penny's window the expression on her face was priceless!! I was dying laughing.

Saturday night was a friend Christmas party with a lot of high school friends. It is always great to see everyone and play "Aarons Confession". JD and I really are so lucky to have such good friends who are so much fun to be around. Just to set the record straight the girls kicked trash at Catch Phrase maybe next year boys.

Kaden's Imagination

So last night I was putting the boys to bed and Kaden says to me, "Mom, I don't want to sleep in my room." "Why Kaden?" Kadens response was, " Because Mom what if animals get in my room?" "Kaden no animals can get in your room your window is so high off the ground they can't jump that high" " Well what about a giraffe Mom, they could let little animals in" "Your right Kaden a giraffes head could reach that high but his face isn't strong enough to break through the glass" The conversation continued about what was stong enough to break the window, etc. It is amazing to me what Kaden comes up with, who would think of a GIRAFFE!!

How to Paint a Truck by JD Dunn

So yesterday JD purchased another beautiful FedEx vehicle to help him get through Christmas without renting. The paint on this 1988 chevy is not the greatest ......
needless to say JD went down to Home Depot and grabbed a gallon of white paint and is out there painting away with a roller!! I told him he was crazy for painting the whole thing and his reply was, " I think you're crazy for re painting our office 3 x". I was silenced!! I don't think JD will ever cease to make me smile from all his unique ideas he gets!!

Happy Halloween

Doesn't he make a cute little bat!!

What a fun Halloween we had. After a chest x-ray and pee sample at the insta care to try and figure out what was wrong with Kaden. He had been crying/screaming all day we got home got the kids dressed and were out the door. (The doctor never was able to tell us what was wrong) I took the kids trick or treating and they were perfect. We made it a good distance before another crying attack started with Kaden. Came home until we ran out of candy and then went over to the Freeman's for a fun get together with friends. It was amazing how nice it was outside the kids were in and out the door, poor Tyler was wearing a fleece bat costume and was a little hot we ended up just having him show everyone his massive muscles. He especially liked showing his girlfriend London.
The night doesn't end there we went over to Jon and Britta's house put the kids to bed ate some more and watched "Taking Lives" it was the perfect scary movie picked out by Reagan. Thanks to all our great friends, family and my cute kids for making Halloween so much fun. I don't think I have ever had such a fun October!! You know I always thought my partying days were over after having kids but we still party like rockstars (maybe even more so now) and all the Holidays are a 100x more fun with kids!!

Halloween Parties!!

What a fun weekend we had!!
Dunn Family Reunion
Saturday was the Dunn family reunion up in Oakley that JD's sister Angie put together. There was tons of different things for the kids to do. Kaden loved making a rocket and watching it blast off into the air. After dinner there was a talent show and every family did a little something. I was impressed with how brave all the little kids were. We were the last ones to go and had planned on JD teaching everyone how to line dance to be our talent. But after seeing all the other little kids on stage Kaden wanted his turn in the spot light. I turned on Getcha Head in the Game and he showed off his booty shake and the coffee grinder it was so cute. Don't worry since Kaden was up there Ty was right beside him. JD was great in teaching everyone how to line dance.

Halloween Party with the Martin Clan
Sunday we had a get together at my Aunt Debbie's house. All the little kids dressed up in their costumes and after a special prayer for my Mom we ate soup and yummy homemade bread from my Grandma. All the little monsters did a little parade for us adults and then a scary guy on stilts showed up and the kids loved chasing him around trying to find out who it was. It was a lot a fun and I appreciate my Aunt Debbie for putting it all together. I am so grateful for such a great family and all the love and support that has been given to us. Kaden all dressed up for the party!! ( I hope his hair goes back to blond/white)

Pumpkin Carving Bonanza
Monday night Marci & Jason, Amanda & Colby, My Mom & Dad, Penny and the kids came over for some yummy dinner and some pumpkin carving fun. Marci and Jason being the rookie carvers pulled through with a really impressive Captain Jack Sparrow. My Dad brought a drummel to get through the massive pumpkin him and Brittany were carving. Kaden loved using a knife to make random holes next to his pirate ship. We had a little explosion in the oven and smoked ended up filling the house a few times, but the cinnamon bread was still good after all was said and done. After we got all the kids to bed us younger adults (the parents pooped out and went home) stayed up till almost midnight carving the most challenging pictures we could find into our pumpkins. It was so much fun to have Marci and Jason with us it has been way to long.
Carter, Tyler, Jaxson, Kaden, Kayci, Brittany and Tanner showing off their creations!!
Jaxson thought it was so gross to pull all the gook out of the middle!!
Good'ol Marci
Look at that monster of a pumpkin!!
All the boys hard at work trying to out do one another
