Smith and Morehouse

JD's parents went camping for a week up at Smith & Morehouse. They invited us to come up anytime..... I got brave and took the kids for a day. The kids had a blast throwing rocks in the river, hiking and being outside. I was happy to take my dirty, wet and grumpy kiddos home that night. Camping with kids is NOT fun to me. Between the river, fire pit, boulders, bugs and weeds I can only handle so much. When they get older I am sure I will enjoy it but for the next couple of years I will consider where I live close enough to camping :)

 This is my cousins baby Madison who is a month younger than Kennedy. Her Mom Jamie was such a good friend of mine growing up that it was so fun to watch these two together. Kennedy would follow her around just because she was a girl and the same size :)

 The 4 oldest boys (Jaxson, Kaden, Cole and Colin) put on a show for us one night. Brittany helped direct and choreograph the whole thing so naturally it was a lot of One Direction songs. They even had us buy tickets for the show.....my Uncle Scott was behind that idea :) And of course I didn't get just a picture of the performers just video :(

A little down time.

As always we had a blast at Lake Powell. Kaden and Tyler both doubled skied for their first time and did awesome. Lincoln even overcame his fear of the deep water and swam all the way from the back of the houseboat to the beach.

Our trip unfortunately ended abruptly. I was helping Lincoln wash off on the ramp to go in for lunch when he slipped and fell the 3 ft. to the ground right on his elbow. Immediately you knew it was bad his arm was swollen. Luckily we were planning on leaving in a few hours anyway. So JD loaded up all our stuff in the boat (with the help of everyone there) while I tried to comfort our poor screaming Lincoln. We grabbed Kennedy, left Kaden and Tyler with Amanda then headed for the bullfrog clinic. They took X-rays and to the doctors and our surprise nothing was broken. So we drugged him up with Ibuprofen and Tylenol and headed home. He arms was tender and swollen for a week but got a little better everyday. He ended up with a huge bruise on his wrist from all the blood draining, but other than that he was good to go. Lincoln is one tough little boy.

We are so lucky to be able to go on such a fun trip every year on an amazing houseboat with great people!!
