February Fun

I am behind on blogging so here is our February update;  Amanda gave Kennedy this stroller for her birthday and the boys loved pushing her around the house in it. She would always have a stuffed animals in her arms.

 Stewart, Ashlynn and Amy got to visit for a week :)

 One Sunday afternoon we took a walk down to the Lake. We saw some deer tracks and Lincoln wanted to follow them so we did. We ended up in snow up to our knees, crossing a river and almost getting "frostbite." (At least that is what Kaden thought he had.)

 Kaden in pain due to snow getting down his boots. He thought he couldn't move. We got back up to the road and dumped a lot of snow out of his boots and then he ran home as fast as he could. Lesson learned.... wear your pants on the outside of your boots when hiking through deep snow :)

 These two are becoming little buddies.

 I love watching my kids imaginations hard at work while they are playing together.

So we started potty training Lincoln and one day he leaned back totally relaxed and said, "Mom, I watching a movie." (No we do not have a TV in our bathroom.)

You're Fired

Tonight we were all outside working... JD got a phone call from an employee and about 5 minutes into the conversation JD was getting mad, he threatened the guys job. Later on we were inside
discussing...how they had heard their Dad get so mad, what is means to be a boss, why JD almost fired him, and so on. Tyler piped up and said, "Dad do you actually put fire on someone, when you fire someone?" I thought it was the cutest thing ever.

Precious Activities

Moving has been GREAT, hard, GREAT hard, etc. You get the point.... Some of the simplest things we do have become the most precious things to my heart. They are the things that are keeping me sane and happy as we get used to living somewhere new, finishing out the winter ( which is hard anywhere) and as we are getting to know people.  This may sound nerdy but I found a lady who teaches classes out her home 2x a week and I can take my kids, it has been such a blessing in my life. Not only do I get a killer workout but I get to talk to Moms who live in the area :)

Kaden and Tyler have had friends come over eat dinner with us and play. Even though our house is small and tiny I LOVE having friends over. I watch my kids laugh, play and be happy therefore I am happy. Last night kaden went snowboarding with a group of friends and I couldn't help but think to myself, this is why we moved here. My son is enjoying the outdoors in the freezing cold with his friends, and doing something he has learned to love.

The other morning we needed something to do so we went to the library. I don't think it was just by chance that we arrived at exactly 10:30 and Discovery Kids started at 10:30. I did not know anything about it before we walked through the doors but it is something my kids and I needed. We saw 2 familiar faces and the kids had a great time. It is now on our calendar of activities for the week.

It always amazes me that it he simplest things in  life like a 2 minute conversation with a friends Mom can make the biggest difference in my day :)

My little girl is 1

 I cannot believe my little girl is 1 years old. She is so much FUN. She is always smiling, loves to wave to anyone who talks to her and loves to climb on anything she can. To say the least we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our little girl :)

 Kennedy can say Dada, bye and Mom. She loves to snuggle. She is in the 97th percentile for height and 60th percentile for weight.

 She was not afraid to dig in and shove as much as she could into her mouth at once.

 I am always in awe with how much babies grow, learn and change in the first year.

Happy Birthday To Me

 So a month back when JD asked me what I wanted for my birthday I told him I wanted a house. We had sold our house, were living with my parents and we didn't really know where life was going to take us. Well I was beyond spoiled on my birthday, I woke up for the first time in our new home and JD got me skiis and a rug for our bedroom :) He let me take a nap in the morning and while I was asleep the boys and JD hid JuJu hearts & my favorite cereal all over the house with cute notes on them.  

I love looking out the windows everywhere we look it is so pretty and it is only going to get prettier :) We are so lucky to live where we do. The people here are so nice, and friendly. Karra and the girls have introduced us to all their friends and even Michael has come over and taken the boys for a snowmobile ride. He told the boys he went as fast as a cheetah does... 70mph. We have had meals broughten over, milk and cookies dropped off and people have offered to put in window wells for us. (Last spring the basement funded)  Going to the grocery store has turned into something I enjoy doing instead of something I hate. Everyone is so nice and happy. I have never had so many conversations with complete strangers at the grocery store in my life. The school has been wonderful and the boys have already made friends. They come home happy and I love watching them get off the bus and then run down our long muddy and icy driveway.

Don't get me wrong not everything is perfect. We are more than cozy in our little home and I am living through another basement being finished which is the pits. We miss our friends, I miss my sisters & parents, (it really was a lot of fun living with my parents for the two months that we did) and I miss having a organized house.  But the transition has been better than expected :) Happy birthday to me I hope this year does NOT have so many changes in store :) 

Canyons Ski School

 My sister found this great deal at the Canyons for their ski school. We dropped the kids off at 8:45 and then picked them back up at 3:30. They provided the rental, pass and lunch all for $39.00 a kid usually $200.00. It was great the kids absolutely loved it and the teachers were wonderful. By far the best $39.00 I have ever spent :)

I have to be honest the morning was ROUGH.... I have not been to the Canyons in years and did not realize how big it was. We find a great place to park and I was thinking this is going to be great. We are getting out of the car when Tylers says, "Mom I don't have any shoes"  It was one of those Mom moments when you want to scream and yell  but decide it's not going to change anything so might as well zip the lip  and just tackle the task on hand.  So I carried Tyler in one arm, Kennedy in the other, my purse and diaper bag. Kaden carried the snow clothes and Lincoln was straggling behind us. After what seemed like an eternity we made it to the sign that said ski school, I was so relieved to walk in those doors. I then learned this was the first stop to get their passes. Tyler needed to then go across to the other side past the lift. At this point we also realized that the boys gloves had been left at home. (I had left Tyler in charge of packing the clothes, everything was in one big pile in the middle of the floor but had forgotten to tell him I put their gloves on the heater vents the night before). So I walk back outside to make the trek by this time Lincoln is crying so luckily a nice Canyons worker, Steve,  offers to help and I hand him Kennedy who then starts crying. So I now have my bags, Tyler in one arm and crying Lincoln in the other with some stranger holding Kennedy who is crying. We drop Tyler off which was a little crazy. I left their took Kennedy and the nice Canyons worker followed me back as tears were streaming down my face. I was EXHAUSTED emotionally and physically. I always have a hard time leaving my kids especially Tyler since he is so shy and gets nervous easily and things didn't go super smooth so I was worried about him.  I find Kaden luckily he was with my sister who had just shown up. My sister took Lincoln and I took a moment to regroup. I was embarrassed that I had lost it. Luckily my mental breakdown did not affect my boys and they had a total blast :) Oh the adventures of being a Mom. I could barely move my arms the next day. I think it is time I start working out again so that I can handle moments like these with a little more diginity :)

The Living Aquarium

I LOVE this picture Kaden sat by Kennedy for a good 15 minutes watching the otter swim, pointing to it, and talking to her. He really is a good big brother and loves his little sis.

 I was pleasantly suprised that Lincoln did not try and dive into the little pool where you can touch the fish. He actually barely even stuck his hand in.

 The favorite part of the aquarium was watching the otter swim. The boys had all kinds of questions for the worker there like what his name was, how old he was and on and on.

 Had to take of picture for Daddy of the Anaconda there that is 5 ft. long. This thing was HUGE.

We had a great time at the aquarium we went the morning of the freezing rain and saw at least five accidents on the way there. I have never seen so many accidents. As I was driving I thought this probably was not the smartest thing to be out on the roads but hey the kids were in the car and ready to go :)
