Happy April Fools

I came home from a great date with my hubby to this waiting by our door!!
Earlier that day my sister Amanda and family stopped by to tell us they were on their way down to my parents to put their bed in the living room, fill the bathtub with goldfish, etc. After they left and we were getting ready to go I thought to myself is she really going to do that or is she just trying to get us out of the house. So I called my parents to make sure they were working out in the field, then put our house on lock down. We had just gotten to walmart to buy the fish, when my sister called and said, "Abort, abort" My parents had come back and almost caught them.
After my parents saw their bed in the living room they decided that ALL 4 girls where to blame so we all got 4 chicks we get to raise!! They also decided that they needed to give our kids the opportunity to learn about taking care of animals since we won't even buy a dog.
SERIOUSLY, I didn't even get a chance to do anything. It is the story of my life my sister always got away with murder and I would get blamed somehow :) Don't let the blond hair and blue eyes fool you she looks all sweet and innocent on the outside but she is a little schemer. But that is also one of the many reasons that I love her and always have so much fun when she is around!!

Since we were at Walmart I figured I better still buy 15 fish and put them to good use. That night the Mortensen's were welcomed home with a car parked sideways in their garage and fish in every sink and some in the master bath tub :)

Pillow Fight

As a young girl I would dream of the time when I would go to a sleep over and get into the funnest pillow fight ever, just like the ones I saw on TV. Well it never did happen..... but last night after putting Lincoln to sleep I headed into Kaden and Tyler's room where I found myself in a DANGER ZONE pillows where flying everywhere. It was JD & Ty against Kaden. I sat and watched for a few minutes telling JD to be careful with the boys, getting worried because Kaden was getting MAD and hoping all the decorations in their room would survive. It didn't take long before JD and Tyler were on top of me and I was being pulverized with pillows.... luckily Kaden teamed up with me and we took them down :) It was so much fun I died laughing so hard so many different times. 40 minutes later when we were downstairs giving the boys a treat before bed Tyler said, " Wasn't that sooo awesome when my pillow was on top of Mom's head!!" To say the least it was a great night in the Dunn household:) Who would have guessed that at 29 years old with three kids I would get to have the best pillow fight ever ( I am sure there are more to come).

I LOVE my boys!!

Houston we have a CRAWLER

A few days ago I left Lincoln and Tyler with my parents...when I came back to pick them up the first thing my Mom said to me was "Lisa he is a good little crawler" Me, "WHAT" Lincoln had taken a few steps with his hands the day before but that was it. I think he is going for the title of favorite grandchild and that is why he made his crawling debut to my parents :)

For some reason my video will not download I will try again later.

Life

Since I tend to forget things easily I thought it would be fun for me to write about a day in the Dunn household. This was on Thursday!!

After a sleepless night (due to Lincoln wheezing all night long) I called the pediatrician first thing and got a 9:00am appoint. Kaden was staying home from school because the day before he had a cold.
8:40- made the appointment
9:05- arrived at the doctors office in PJ's, Kaden informs me he doesn't feel sick anymore
9:20- Give Lincoln a breathing treatment. I pretty much told the doctor that was what I wanted and he threw a bunch of facts at me about how 95% of patients with bronchitis don't respond. But after learning that me and Kaden have asthma he gave in.
9:45- Lincoln responded wonderfully to the breathing treatment. Hmmm I wish I would have been more proactive the other two times I have seen the pediatrician for the same problem.
10:20- Drop the prescription off at the pharmacy for steroids and medicine for my nebulizer that I have at home.
10:30- Run inside get Kaden changed, make him lunch and drop him off at school
11:00- Get Tyler all ready for preschool
12:00- Drop Tyler off at preschool and on my way home get a phone call from Kaden's school that he just threw up at lunch...SERIOUSLY
12:15- Pick up Kaden and discover that he didn't throw up because his tummy hurt, he just saw (Ravioli) and it looked disgusting to him. "Mom the first time the throw up came up I was able to keep it in with my mouth shut, the 2nd time I covered my mouth with my arm and Mom the third time it just came blasting out!!" He is one of a kind. I wasn't too overly surprised. At home he tells me sometimes, "Mom you better get that out of my sight because I am going to throw up" and at 9 months old Kaden would see his reflux medicine in the syringe and throw up.
1:00- Give Lincoln breathing treatment and steroids which taste awful!!
4:00- A company comes to clean my couches and can't get the throw-up all the way out (an incident from the past week) they have to have someone else come out.
5:00- Cabinet people come and I make some final scary decisions with Lincoln crying the whole 2 hrs they where here. Poor little guy that is the most I have ever heard him cry since he was born.
9:00- Help JD with a business plan to hopefully get a free route :)
9:45- In bed hoping for a little bit of sleep!!

I laid in bed that night just laughing to myself was that really all one day. I tell you what being a Mom provides soo many surprises. After talking more with the doctor about Lincoln he is likely to end up with asthma like Kaden. At first I was so relieved because FINALLY a way to treat him and then after giving him his first breathing treatment at home, the reality of what that means set in. It's nothing horrible but it just means every time he gets a cold breathing treatments and steroids are involved so next winter I have to magically figure out a way to keep all my kids healthy!!

"Fat Mama"

Yesterday morning I had half a piece of cake for breakfast. Tyler came over to watch me eat my breakfast for champions and said, "Mom if you eat a lot of that, that will make your belly big right?" Me: " Yes, if I eat too much of it I will get fat." So I finished eating this amazing piece of cake when Tyler came back over and asked, "Mom did you eat too much of it?"
Me, "No, why"

"Mom!! I wanted you to eat too much of it so your belly would get big and I could call you FAT MAMA" I died laughing and responsed "Why do you want to call me FAT MAMA?"
"Because FAT MAMA is an awesome name Mom"
